Flipping back to Byrd

While the whole Bedard to Seattle, then, maybe, Roberts to Chicago, thing drags on, other sure-fire deals (hah), like Murton for Greene and Murton for Byrd, wait. Hopefully the Orioles will pull the trigger and the rest of the world can move on.

I'll start now with revisiting Marlon Byrd. This wasn't something I woke up planning to do, but Rob Neyer stunned me this morning (emphasis mine) :

Those are the top 10 center fielders of 2007, OPS+-wise (and it's a long drop from Sizemore to No. 11 Marlon Byrd).

Say what?

See for yourself. Grady Sizemore, and others, checked in at 122, and Byrd at 113. Nate McClouth at 110 was close behind. Of the 39 guys who played 50 games or more in center field, Felix Pie was dead last. Jacque Jones was 26th. At least they played good defense.
