The Royals visit Mesa tomorrow. Lefty John Bale gets the start against Jason Marquis.
Bale's an interesting case. He'll be 34 this year and returned last year to the Majors after a stint in Japan. Talking about Japan, I'm hoping Hideo Nomo gets into the game. We missed him by one day, and got Tomko instead, but he's still around, battling for a spot in the bullpen.
Based on some of his appearances last year, Bale's got a decent fastball, what looks like a change-up (could be a cutter, but he appears to cut the ball a lot on both fastballs). A third pitch is some type of curve/slider/slurve. Low spin, good drop, a little bit of break.

Sounds like the Cubs are leaning towards Eyre being the only lefty in the pen.
Take makes sense, since Lou has given a spot to Hart already.
