Read Between the Lines

Ronny Cedeno is not exactly in the dog-house, but I don't think Lou is too happy with him. As I mentioned earlier, he "begged out" of Friday's game, and didn't make the trip to Tuscon today.

"I told him [Friday] that 'You've got to get on the field,'" said Piniella, who is trying to sort out his bench players. "Everybody's got a little bit of a nick or pain. We left him behind. Maybe he'll be able to play tomorrow."

That's two straight days of no Ronny. Cintron's resting his face, which was only "nicked".

Perhaps, in the end, the Cubs won't care if Ronny gets picked off the waiver wire.

I still think, barring a trade with Baltimore, the cubs place him on waivers and some team (maybe even Baltimore) claims him. He hasn't done anything so far in a spring where he had to do a lot.
