Sox Saturday

Update #3 Ronny "begged" out of yesterday's game, and isn't in today's line-up, either.

Updates below (Line-ups and more pitchers)

Hmmm, coffee after sleeping in. After about a month of the flu, on and off, I hope the warmer weather and higher sun bodes well for my health. Gotta be ready for the 31st.

Sleeping in today was required, as I stayed up to watch the Beijing Ballgame. Justin Germano looked great. Otherwise, yawn, I slept through quite a bit of it. Ended in a tie, which probably served to confuse the local fans even more than they were already.

The Cubs head to Tucson today to take on the White Sox. As I noted last night, the Sox are scheduling Nick Masset, Octavio Dotel and Scott Linebrink to throw today.

Updated: Also pitching for the Sox: Boone Logan and D.J. Carrasco

Rich Hill gets the start today for the Cubs. He'll be backed-up by the following bullpen:

Jose Ascanio
Neal Cotts
Kevin Hart
Tim Lahey
Carmen Pignatiello
Les Walrond

Solid group of 2nd tier relievers, some of which are fighting for a realistic shot at a job on the 25-man roster. Hill should throw four (maybe five?) innings, so the bullpen is well stocked, and not all those guys are guaranteed work today.

Starting Line-ups

DeRosa (2b)
Hoffpauir (1b)
Ward (dh)
Fukudome (rf)
Murton (lf)
Soto (c)
