Hudson f/x

The Cubs are in the midst of today's match-up with the Braves. Tim Hudson is on the mound, in 1948 garb. I wonder if they're taking a train to to their city on their trip.

Hudson is the last man standing in the Atlanta rotation, and he's a top-shelf pitcher.

The cutter/slider distinction may be a result of how hard he throws the pitch. In any case the cutter is very effective against righties, and rarely used against lefties.
