The addition of Marmol is mind boggling. He was lights out great for a couple of months this season and very much deserved consideration, but the last 2 months he's been one of the worst pitchers in baseball. I want the NL to win, which means under no circumstances do I want Marmol to be on the field. Not even with a 7 or 8 run lead against an all-star team.
Hurdle said he did it simply because he was the next guy on the player's ballot.
I think that's a pretty poor excuse, Harry. This meaningless game isn't so meaningless yet it's not treated that way. The players and coaches still treat this like a meaningless game. I don't blame them, but I'd like to see them put the best team on the field and try to win it.
