According to the Trib, Lou is sliding Jeff Samardzija into Bob Howry's 7th inning slot.
Bob Howry's recent struggles have prompted Cubs manager Lou Piniella to use him in non-critical situations, while Jeff Samardzija has moved into a setup role.

About time. Howry has been awful all season long. Lefties, righties, day, night, every month except for May. I don't know why, but he's been terrible. I'm hoping he's the new Scott Eyre and maybe we'll see Ascanio (who has not at all been good in AAA, but at least has potential) or Wuertz. Maybe even Reed Johnson. Couldn't be much worse.
